Carmichael’s Cashway Pharmacy, Inc. (“Carmichael’s”) was established 35 years ago as a local retail pharmacy in Crowley, Louisiana by Ted and Judy Carmichael. In 1991 Carmichael’s expanded its services regionally by offering infusion therapy and durable medical equipment. In December, 1999 Carmichael’s opened a second location in Lafayette, Louisiana. The Lafayette location provided the resources necessary to expand services state wide. Carmichael’s is currently marketing and/or providing services to all sixty seven parishes in Louisiana and also shipping nutritional products to customers in Kansas, Missouri and Mississippi.

SunLink Health Systems, Inc., through its subsidiary SunLink Scripts Rx, LLC (“Scripts”) acquired Carmichael’s in April, 2008 and continues to operate the pharmacy and medical equipment business with a dedicated focus of meeting the needs of its medical community and consumers. Carmichael’s routinely markets services to Dialysis Centers, Cancer Centers, HIV-Aids Clinics, Nursing Homes, Hospitals, Physicians and Home Health Agencies. In addition to the “at home” patients, Carmichael’s currently services 5500 long term care customers, providing oral nutritional supplements, enteral nutrition by tube or bolus feeding, infusion therapy or medical equipment. Carmichael’s has achieved accreditation by The Joint Commission on Healthcare Organizations.

Scripts expanded its service area in July, 2009 opening a specialty long term care pharmacy in Georgia with plans to provide pharmacy services to residents in nursing homes in Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina. Additionally, Scripts is exploring opportunities to open additional specialty long term care pharmacies in other areas throughout the Southeastern United States.
