EXECUTIVE MANAGEMENT

Robert M. Thornton, Jr., Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, was instrumental in establishing and growing the company. He has been an executive with national, multi-facility healthcare corporations since 1981, and his experience is exemplified by his active and successful involvement in acquisitions, divestures and turnarounds of community hospital facilities.

Mark J. Stockslager, Chief Financial Officer, has been associated with SunLink in its accounting and finance operations since 1988. He has been actively involved in the financing and reporting of the various acquisitions and divesture activities of the company over that period.

Harry R. Alvis, Chief Operating Officer, joined the company in 2001. Throughout his tenure at SunLink he has provided exceptional leadership. Prior to joining the company, he served as CEO at a number of rural hospitals for multi-hospital systems since 1980, where he was recognized for his excellent management skills.

George D. Shaunnessy, Chief Executive Officer - SunLink Home Care Services, LLC, has been an executive of public and private home healthcare and specialty pharmacy companies, and a hospital operations executive at both the hospital and corporate level.

Jerome D. Orth, Vice President-Reimbursement and IT, has specialized expertise in both third-party reimbursement as well as hospital information systems. His background includes over 25 years’ experience in multi-hospital corporations at both the facility and corporate levels.

Jack M. Spurr, Vice President-Hospital Financial Operations, has over 25 years’ experience in the financial operations of healthcare facilities. He coordinates hospital financial operations between all SunLink healthcare facilities and the corporate office.
